Academic Structure

The Shishu Nistha Niketan, Imphal West is modelled on the Day-Boarding concept where the child receives a comprehensive education, designed to promote physical, mental, social and intellectual development. It has classes starting from Pre-Primary to Class-XII.

The Pre School is a start of child's independent experience away from home. At Shishu Pre-School Centre, we aim to provide a 'Home-away-from-Home' for the child within a warm and friendly environment. We are committed to the development of the whole child with the provision of equality environment that is stimulating and enriching, ensuring that a child develops to the fullest potential physically, emotionally, socially and morally.

The Junior School build on the spirit of exploration and emphasis is placed on acquiring sound language skills, clarity of mathematical concepts and the discovery and understanding of scientific principles. Through extensive project work they are given an awareness of the richness of diverse people's history and culture.

The Senior School consolidate and builds on the students' academic and social growth. The emphasis is on investivation and conceptualization as they begin the first place of preparation for the Board Examinations.

The Senior Secondary School now offer Science stream, Arts stream and Commerce stream. As we strive for excellence in what we do, the school is constantly making endeavours to scale new heights by developing synergy between academic knowledge high moral values and sensitivity to the environment and the nation.

In all this, a rich program of co-curricular activities, sports, dance, music, art, drama and hobby classes run parallel to the academic curriculum. To ensure this, we have a House System in which the students are divided into four houses:

SHAKTI    PRAGATI    JYOTI    NEETI

Each house is headed by a Captain and a Vice-Captain who take constant guidance from the House-Incharges. Inter-House competitions are organized in various sports, cultural and co-curricular activities. This fosters a spirit of co-operation amongst the pupils. On the final day of Annual Sports Meet, a trophy is given to the Best Performing House.
